You asked for clearer visibility into software risks, and now it’s here. The new Software tab in PDQ Connect makes it easier to see, prioritize, and fix vulnerabilities across your environment.
Keeping software secure is no small task. Modern IT environments can have thousands of applications spread across hundreds (or thousands) of devices, each with its own stream of vulnerabilities. Sorting through that noise to figure out where to focus first is one of the biggest challenges sysadmins face.
The at-a-glance view you've been looking for
Until now, the Vulnerabilities tab in Connect displayed CVEs one by one, categorized by severity. While this gives admins detailed information, it often means combing through long lists of CVEs to determine which patches would have the biggest impact. The new Software tab groups CVEs by software title. With a single glance, you can now see:
Which applications in your environment carry the most risk
The number of vulnerabilities per application
A breakdown of devices impacted by the CVEs (viewable by clicking the software name or a numerical total in the table)
Severity levels broken down by critical, high, medium, and low

Why it matters
This new view makes prioritization straightforward. Instead of sifting through endless CVE lists, you can quickly see which applications pose the greatest threat and which fixes will deliver the biggest security win.
Let’s say you’ve got hundreds of CVEs across your org. Do you start with Adobe Reader, Windows 11, or Firefox? The Software tab gives you a clear picture of where patching will move the needle most. And because it surfaces risks in an application-focused view, this feature makes it easier to align patching with real-world impact — helping you prioritize high-risk issues while avoiding wasted effort on low-priority fixes. That means less time spent combing through spreadsheets or jumping between tools and more time closing the gaps that matter most.
In other words, it helps sysadmins stop firefighting and start tackling vulnerabilities strategically and proactively.
