We have just released PDQ Deploy 2.0 Release 2.
Among various bug fixes we have introduced some fairly major changes and features. These changes actually required some fundamental architecture revisions that makes PDQ Deploy faster and paves the way for some great new features in the coming months.
Here are a few of my favorite changes:
Package Library (formerly the Installer Library) subscriptions are now available (
Upgrade Protection now included in Subscription
32/64-bit Package Conditions (pro mode)
You will no longer need to keep separate packages for 32-bit and 64-bit applications.
We plan on adding OS, File and Registry conditions in upcoming releases.
If you want to utilize the Package Library you will need to either activate or purchase a subscription. If you are running Pro mode with a current maintenance agreement then you simply need to activate your subscription (since the old Maintenance provides a Basic level subscription). Here is a tutorial and video showing how you can do this.
If you just want to run PDQ Deploy in Free mode but still have access to the Package Library then you can purchase a Basic level subscription here. A Basic Level subscription in Free mode gives you access to all Basic level Packages except those which require Pro mode.
Lastly – we want to remind all our free mode users that using the Package Library is not required. You can still create all your own packages for installing just about every application or patch out there. That is, afterall, the beauty of PDQ Deploy.
