FAQs
Are macOS devices free to add to Connect for everyone?
macOS devices are free to add during the early access period with any paid PDQ Connect subscription. The early access period will conclude August 1, 2026. See PDQ Connect pricing here.
What will macOS device pricing be after August 1, 2026?
Beginning August 1, 2026, macOS devices will be billed prorated at the same per-device rate as Windows devices under your PDQ Connect subscription.
We'll send reminders in advance so that you know how to plan around your subscription.
Is PDQ Connect an MDM?
Connect uses a macOS agent, not Apple’s MDM framework.
MDMs, like SimpleMDM or Intune, are great for enforcing policies across large Apple fleets. But if you mainly need to patch apps, deploy software, run scripts, or remote into Macs, PDQ Connect gives you that control.
Which kinds of Apple devices does Connect support?
Connect currently supports macOS laptops and desktops.
The macOS agent does not support iPads, iPhones, or Apple TVs.
How do I enable the macOS agent if I’m already a Connect customer?
No setup is required; the macOS agent is already available in your Connect account. See step-by-step instructions on how to start adding macOS devices.
What can I do with the macOS agent right now?
You can view real-time device info, deploy custom packages, run Bash/Zsh commands and scripts, remote into Macs, create automations that run on Macs, and create reports.
New features, including an expansion of the Package Library to include macOS prebuilt packages and vulnerability management for macOS, are coming in 2026.
